In the early afternoon of Tuesday, November 27, 2012 the Hitch House experienced a fire that destroyed a great deal of their motor home showroom facilities, located at 1490 hwy. 11 North, Oro-Medonte, Ontario. GEL was engaged to design the 2590m² RV and Parts Showroom and six bay repair garage. As prime consultant, GEL assisted the client through the Site Plan Application, Building Permit and construction process. GEL was responsible for Site Works, Architectural, and Structural design.
GEL performed general review of construction, including field reviews to generally assess compliance with the design requirements and progress and conformity of the work with the design drawings, further completing Payment Certification.
- Preparation of site and floor plans for client review and comment;
- Preparation of Preliminary and Detailed Designs including architectural plans and details for construction, structural framing and foundation plans and details, site servicing plans, site grading plans;
- General review of all works on site;
- Warranty Administration including addressing issues as raised by the Municipality and coordinating reductions in securities.
