Our Environmental Team focuses on a variety of registration services promoting regulatory compliance and sustainability. We work closely with you to assess your facility’s environmental risks, developing mitigation strategies, and facilitating the necessary registrations for your operations whether it be for the Environmental Activity and Sector Registry (EASR) including Automotive Refinishing Facilities (ARF) or the Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) for the Ontario Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP). Should modifications to your facility be required, we include other departments at Gerrits, specifically the Mechanical and Structural departments, in the process to ensure the solutions proposed are cost effective.

For agricultural operations, we can also provide Minimum Distance Separation (MDS) calculations which is a land use planning tool that determines setback distances between livestock barns, manure storages or anaerobic digesters, and the surrounding land uses with the object to minimize land use conflicts and nuisance complaints related to odour.

For renewable energy projects, we can guide you through the Renewable Energy Approval (REA) process which provides authorization from the MECP for the operation of an energy facility that utilizes a renewable fuel – specifically wind, solar, or biogas.
