Based in beautiful Barrie Ontario, Gerrits Engineering is a full service Consulting Engineering firm that specializes in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering. Since 2006, Gerrits has been delivering outstanding designs and topnotch service which has resulted consistent in growth. At present, we have delivered projects to nearly 2000 unique clients.

We are currently hiring for a new Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our team of exceptional professionals.

The Intermediate Civil Engineer plays an integral role in our company by being responsible for developing and creating engineering drawings for land development and coordinate major land development projects. You will work with our Civil Designers, Contract Administrators Field Technicians and other departments when necessary.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design civil works such as roads, sewers, watermains, pump stations, water reservoirs, streetscapes and storm water management facilities;
  • The preparation of proposals, reports, contracts and technical specifications;
  • Taking part in project meetings and coordinating with the project manager and other team members to ensure timely completion of necessary tasks and;
  • Provide engineering design recommendations to develop land in accordance to the respective municipality and/or regulating authority;
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a P.Eng designation
  • An experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record of utilizing their unique skills and experience to support the development of engineering projects
  • A background in contract administration
  • 5 years of experience of practical experience in the civil engineering field with relevant leadership experience
  • Someone who identifies as a self-starter and a team player with critical thinking skills who can bring fresh ideas for projects
  • Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines working on the same projects
  • Confidence to put forward suggestions on how to help grow the company and improve processes
  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial standards

Employment Terms

This is a full-time permanent position located in Barrie, ON, which requires a 37.5h workweek.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
